The world famous leader Winston Churchill said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Although spoken over 80 years ago the sentiment it brings to mind still rings true in these somewhat troubled times.
I am consistently and pleasantly surprised at the number of people that reach out to GOL 7 days a week with the single minded purpose of both helping nature win and making sure their surplus office furnishings are repurposed to charity and good will.
In our first 18 months we have donated over 100 truckloads of goods with an in kind donation value of over $250K. These items have gone to all manner of charity, but we would be remiss to not single out our largest and most valuable partner the Habitat for Humanity.
Their ReStore located at 2111 Lakeland Ave. on Long Island accepts all manner of furniture and supplies that GOL acquires through our various liquidation projects. They also accept metals and other raw materials which they then can obtain scrap value for to further fund their worthy mission.
