The USTA Serves Up “Love” to Habitat For Humanity

When you are a world class sports organization with over 550 employees in a 100K SF building that has been your national headquarters for 3 decades, you can be certain there is a treasure trove of items that can be repurposed for others to enjoy for many years to come.

Fortunately, the USTA felt the same. As they prepared to move into a smaller size new office, the USTA found there were many office items that were no longer needed. As part of the USTA’s “Green” initiative, it was GOL’s good fortune to be able to connect them to Habitat For Humanity. Chairs, sofas, tables, file cabinets, monitor arms, bookcases all were donated, filling up almost 10 truckloads. According to Courtney Collins, the Director of Operations at Habitat, the items that “flew” out the door the quickest were the almost 200 framed photos of past tennis stars in action!

As the old axiom goes “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Proving once again that with a little creativity and compassion we can move the planet forward to a more circular economy because as always “When Nature Wins, We All Win!
